HAPPY ADOPTION DAY, ALEX!
We celebrated Alex's adoption day last Saturday. The official day the adoption was final was the 15th. While the year went quickly, it also feels like Alex has been with us for much longer. It has been such a wonderful year, and our lives have been so enriched by his presence!
To celebrate his special day we talked with him more about adoption and what it means and showed him his scrapbook from our trip to Ukraine. He was much more interested this time and did ask a few questions. We just want to make sure he knows it is not something to hide, but something to celebrate! Also, we want him to feel that we can talk about it anytime he wants to, and ask us questions. We also had a prayer time together.
We also gave him a gift- a train that he had really wanted. It is big enough to put his little people in so he was really happy about it! Then, he got to pick what he was going to have for dinner on his special day. He and I went shopping for it the day before- he picked hot dogs, tater tots, fries, and watermelon!
I am working on the report Ukraine asks us to send after the first year and it has been so neat to reflect on all of Alex's accomplishments and milestones this year. He has come so far! God is so good!

Alex, we are so glad that God brought you into our family! We love you so much!
One year already - what a blessing! Alex looks so happy.
When you get a chance, send me an email and maybe we can set up a time to meet for dinner and let the boys play.
What an amazing thought to realize it has been an entire year with Alex. We are glad he is a part of your family and couldn't imagine it any other way!
My boys have the same train...we keep it around the Christmas tree...it is so fun!
Wow - a whole year! I know this year has been filled with so many amazing experiences for all three of you, and we can't wait to see how wonderful the coming years will be.
What a great celebration! Makes me really want a hotdog. We're so glad Alex is part of our family - we love him so much! And we're so happy for you guys! What a blessing!
